For the first time since the establishment of the Agfa Radiology Advisory Board (RAB) in 2020, Agfa Radiology solutions had the pleasure of hosting a live event with its board members on October 14 and 15. Agfa's RAB is an institution of visionary and forward thinking individuals from our industry. The objective is to help identify medical and market developments, competitive landscapes, and visions for the future of X-ray. The members consist of esteemed radiologists in the world. For this live session, the goal was set to publish an opinion piece about the future of medical X-ray. How to bring X-ray back in the spotlight and explore how to define its future role. In summary, the fundamental challenge radiology is consistently facing is that the demand for patient care and imaging is accelerating faster than the current healthcare landscape can withstand. Within this context, the group defined the next future directions for X-ray developments. The team has now compiled the important points of the opinion piece and submitted a paper abstract to ECR 2023. Pending acceptance, we hope to be presenting the future of medical X-ray in Vienna together with our Board in 2023! In parallel the group will be completing the opinion piece and looking for other channels to publish it to create awareness. A big 'thank you' to all contributors of this fruitful event!
